MANAS KUMAR MANDAL

  Ph.D.,  FNAPsy

Dr. Mandal is a cognitive neuropsychologist; specializes in development of assessment system for recruitment, selection, allocation & training, based on applied analysis of human behavior, psychometric testing, & functional architecture of the brain. He has contributed immensely to Indian Armed Forces, elite paramilitary forces, & to academic institutions in human capital development.

CAREER PROFILE

 

Dr. Mandal has made significant contribution in the field of applied analysis of human behavior, in general, and psychological science, in particular. His early research on cognitive and affective neuropsychology has added significant value in the understanding of focal brain-damaged and mental patients. This has been accomplished through the development of non-traditional assessment system which involved social and neuroscientific methodologies.  His later contribution to military psychology has produced significant change within the community of security forces. Noteworthy, among these include (a) getting the best cadet for the armed / elite forces through scientifically developed selection system, (b) analyzing security-critical behavior like mob hysteria / terrorism, (c) imparting mass counseling for man-made and natural disasters, (d) reducing the incidence of self-defeating behaviors in soldiers like suicide and fratricide, etc. Currently, Dr Mandal is engaged in ‘Science of happiness & well-being’ research.
